Last week The Lowry asked me to visit Worthington Road Primary School in Sale Moor. I worked with 3 classes of Year 1 and 2 pupils to produce work with them about their local area, we focused in on drawing the varied style of housing along the road that the school is situated on. The pupils worked in watercolours, crayon and ink resist, Derwent Inktense pencils and graphite to produce this mixed media group piece.

I have been commissioned to work in collaboration with writer Sarah Butler by arts and wellbeing organisation Arc to create a series of large scale textile banners. Through a programme of workshops and public engagement, we will explore the question Where is the heart of Stockport?
I am running some workshops for those with some experience, interest or skills in stitching, to make pieces that will contribute to some large hangings and an exhibition in early 2016. I hope to respond to some of the writing that has been produced in Sarah's workshop as well as using maps and features of the marketplace area as a stimulus. The sessions are free and will take place at St Marys in the Marketplace on Thursday 1st, 8th and 15th October between 10.30 and 3.30.
